The first polls of the regular season are out. Kentucky moved, although not much in the national polls this week, possibly due to the Enes Kanter ruling and possibly due to other teams moving around for their own reasons. Either way, the CATS don’t rank too bad after having just played one game with a team loaded with mostly freshman. Let’s take a look at where they sit.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
In the AP poll, Kentucky is ranked 12. Florida is ranked 9 and Tennessee 24th being the only other 2 teams from the SEC in the top 25. In the USA Today/Coaches poll, the Wildcats are a spot lower sitting at 13. Florida is at 10 and Tennessee at 23 in that poll.
As expected, Duke, Michigan State, Kansas State, Pittsburgh and Ohio State make up the top 5 in both polls (Pitt and Ohio State swap places depending on which you look at).
How do you feel about Kentucky’s current ranking? Is it warranted? Would they be ranked higher with Enes Kanter on the playing roster? Leave a comment below to let us know your thoughts.
