Kentucky took care of business in Terrence Jones’ homecoming as they jumped out to a 15-0 lead and never looked back, going on to a 79-48 win over the Portland Pilots. There is a lot to talk about, so lets look at the boxscore.

Darius Miller played like he should every game, scoring 15 points and pulling down 5 rebounds. What he didn’t rebound, he blocked. He had 5 blocks and 4 assists. Miller was active from the start, as he went a 7-0 himself after Jones scored the first basket.

Big Josh Harrellson ended up with 12 rebounds. His role is to battle and own the boards. He did his job last night.

Brandon Knight and Doron Lamb stayed with their consistent play. These two are the most dependable players on the team, and when they are shooting the way they are right now, Maui might end up being Blue in the finals.

Terrence played ok compared to the ETSU game, but Coach Cal did say he played the best of any kid he had ever taken home to play. Jones received a loud ovation at the beginning of the game from the home fans, which is great for the hometown kid. Terrence ended up with 12 points on 5-14 from the field and only 5 rebounds.
All in all this was over from the start. The Cats looked dominant and I expect them to be firmly in the Top 5 after Maui if this play continues. I know the competition will be a little tougher, but that is why Cal has scheduled the teams he has. Have fun in Maui fellas, I can’t wait till the tournament starts!! Go Cats!!
