Chatter around the internet seems to indicate that a ruling could be handed down from the NCAA today and although it may not be what was expected, it could be favorable for the Wildcats. Aaron’s UKBB Blog tweeted that Larry Vaught indicates that Enes Kanter will be ruled eligible for next season. Sure, fans are hoping to seem him hit the court this year but that is at least some positive news.

It has been thought that Enes Kanter would be a top pick in the NBA draft this season and regardless of what happened at UK, he would enter the draft this year. The brakes were put onto that thought yesterday when Kanter’s father, Dr. Memhet Kanter, told Mike DeCourcy of The Sporting News that he would “guarantee” his son would not enter the 2011 NBA Draft if the NCAA would allow him to play next season.
“Enes would do anything to play and help UK, his teammates and fans,” Mehmet Kanter wrote in an e-mail to DeCourcy. “In the last two years, one thing me and Enes never discussed was him being pro. He didn’t mention to me about NBA or draft and I guarantee you as a father – if that’s the NCAA’s decision Enes will be a sophomore next year in UK.”
It could be an interesting day for BBN who have been anxiously awaiting some Kanter news. Stick with Nation of Blue and we’ll keep you updated.
