Daniels to Decide New Year’s Day?

Could the recruitment of DeAndre Daniels finally be coming to an end? Adam Zagoria had a chance to speak to Dinos Trigonis, who coached Daniels in AAU. Trigonis seemed to think Daniels would be deciding soon.
“They’re trying to make a decision here, hopefully around Jan. 1,” Trigonis, who has coached Daniels in AAU, said Thursday by phone. “They’re going to basically finalize and get together as a family and decide what they want to do.”
He also spoke of who he will be deciding from and the favorites from that list.
“I think probably the three is Kansas, Kentucky and Texas,” Trigonis said. “I wouldn’t totally rule out Oregon but they’re probably a notch behind the other school.”

Daniels could opt to remain at IMG Academies through the spring, but Trigonis thinks he’ll pull the trigger and commit now, but wait until the fall to play.

“He’s going to school in January but I don’t think he’s going to play this year,” he said.
I am looking forward to completing the 2011 class, but I really wish Daniels would play this year as well. That is the only thing that makes him more appetizing for me more than Trevor Lacey. In other words, if we don’t get Daniels, I am more than happy to have a shot at Lacey.
