Josh Harrellson has been a difference maker for the Wildcats this year. He’s had career performances this year seemingly one right after the other. Friday against the Louisville Cardinals was just Josh writing another chapter in his book. He scored 23 points and had 14 rebounds in what he called “the best night of my life” when talking to the media after the game.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Eric Lindsey of Cat Scratches asked fans to “Raise your hand if you predicted one year ago from today that Josh Harrellson would be the difference in this year’s Dream Game? How about six months ago? Last month? Yesterday?”
We’ve been saying it for months. As long as Josh keeps having career games, the Wildcats could go a long way. Now, some people think that Josh is the most improved player in the nation. Coach Cal might be one of them.
“He’s taught me a great lesson,” Calipari said. “What we coaches like to do is just work with the good guys. The guys that are struggling, sometimes you just push them aside. What he has shown me is every kid deserves everything we have to help him get better. … I’m just proud of him. He had 23 points and 14 rebounds?! Oh my gosh. Wow. It’s an emotional rush seeing that.”
Calipari seems to like it and so does Big Blue Nation; fans who love career games by career Wildcats. Josh is fitting that mold and on Monday, he’ll have his chance to prove that the hype isn’t premature.
