The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men’s Basketball team opened up their 2014-15 season on Tuesday night against the Grenadiers of Indiana University-Southeast (IU-SE). With a lot of new faces on the UC roster this season, it looked as if they have meshed well together, coming away with a solid 85-72 win over IU-SE. The win moves UC to 1-0 on the year.
BY THE NUMBERS
· Tony Bradley (Alton, IL) led the Patriots in scoring with 17 points as well as 6 rebounds.
· Xavier Owens (Tampa, FL) also pitched in 16 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
· Josh Caldwel (Auroro, CO) added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
· The Patriots were very solid from the floor on the game, shooting an impressive 44.7%.
· UC was also dominating on the boards, outrebounding the Grenadiers 43-27.
UP NEXT
The Patriots will be back in action on Friday October 31st as they host St. Thomas University. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm.
