Today Brings Lots of Kentucky Wildcats

Good morning to all of you in Big Blue Nation and to you Enes Kanter. Yesterday brought a disappointing end to the Kanter case that was expected and unexpected all at the same time. Although the decision(s) of the NCAA will be talked about for years to come, we can’t lose sight that today brings a day of Kentucky Wildcats action.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

At 12:00pm, Operation: Win takes the field in the BBVA Compass Bowl. Kentucky faces Pittsburgh in the most important game of the year for Joker Phillips and the Wildcats. Morgan Newton gets the opportunity to make or break the first year of Operation: Win and set the tone for next year’s season. A big game by Newton and the CATS will bring some (much needed?) enthusiasm going into the 2011 season while a loss will bring more Negative Nancy’s.

At 4:00pm, John Calipari and a Kanter-less Forever Kentucky Wildcats team open SEC play against Georgia. It’s time to move on. It’s time to put 100% of the focus in the players the NCAA didn’t screw. At 4:00pm, it will be time to see if Terrence Jones shows up to play and if Josh Harrellson can continue his early season heroics in the paint.

Nation of Blue will be here to get you through both games and bring you the UK news throughout the day. I hope you’ll stick around.
