Future Cats On TV: Gilchrist, Davis, Anderson And Muhammad


As we all prepare for another huge weekend for Kentucky basketball, it’s also a busy four day window for some potentially future Wildcats as five players will put their skills on the line on television.

2011 commit Michael Gilchrist and Anthony Davis, along with future UK recruit targets Dakari Johnson (2014), Kyle Anderson (2012), Omar Calhoun (2012), Isaiah Lewis (2013) and Shabazz Muhammad (2012) are all on TV starting Friday night at 7:00 and ending with a 1:00 p.m. tip time on Monday. Here’s the weekend schedule along with stations broadcasting games of interest.

[B]- Friday:[/B] Kentucky bound Michael Gilchrist, and his number 2 nationally ranked St Patrick Celtics, take on Duke bound and highly ranked Austin Rivers and his Winter Park team tonight at 7:00 pm. ESPN2 and ESPN3 will both broad cast one of the most anticipated games of the year. Rivers is yet to defeat Gilchrist and St Patrick’s.

Many Cat fans may also get their first look at 2014 UK target, center Dakari Johnson, who is a teammate of Gilchrist on St Patrick and is considered by many as one of, if not the, top big man in the Class of 14.

[B]- Saturday:[/B] 2012 Kentucky target Kyle Anderson will be featured on ESPNU and ESPN3 at 4:00 p.m. Anderson is a 6-8, 215 lb Power forward/Shooting Guard out of St Anthony High school in Jersey City, N.J.

[B]- Saturday:[/B] 2011 commit Anthony Davis will bring his show on the road to Dayton, OH and the Good Samaritan Hospital “Flyin to the Hoops” tournament. Davis’ Perspectives Charter team will play at 7:00 pm and can be seen on ESPNU. [B]- Monday:[/B] 2012 Kentucky recruit Omar Calhoun and his teammate, 2013 target Isaiah Lewis can be seen on ESPNU at 11:00 am as they take on Westchester Country Day.

[B]- Monday:[/B] The feature game of the four day period, may occur at 1:00 pm as Kentucky’s Michael Gilchrist will take on 2012 high profile Kentucky target Shabazz Muhammad. Muhammad has become a top target prospect for the Cats and is ranked in the top 10 in just about every recruiting site. If you can’t watch this one live, be sure and schedule the recorder.

For Cat fans, this is a super weekend of basketball. Kentucky takes on LSU at Rupp on Saturday. Tip time will be 4:00 pm and can be seen on the SEC Network. Coach Mitchell and his Wildcats take on Mississippi State Sunday at Memorial Coliseum. Tip time is 1:00 pm.
