It seems like a lot of the big high school basketball news somehow has a tie to the Kentucky Wildcats. This time, it is Marquis Teague and his Pike school winning the Marion County Title. It’s a big step towards Teague’s goal that he stated before his senior year and “silencing the doubters”.
“There were doubters that thought we couldn’t compete at this level,” said Teague, who scored a game-high 30 points one night after scoring 28 in an 84-77 upset of Class 4A No. 1 North Central in the semifinals. “That’s what we wanted to do — show we can win on this level. We wanted to show that we are one of the top teams in the state.”
“Our goal is to make it to state and win that,” [URL=”http://www.highschoolsports.net/local/indianapolis/article/No-doubting-Red-Devils-after-impressive-title-run-1/”]Teague said[/URL]. “I’m going to keeping pushing every day in practice because that’s where it starts. I’m not satisfied.”
