Adam Himmelsbach of the Courier Journal made some calls to Vegas oddsmakers to try and make a guess on who would be favored in the Kentucky at Louisville game.
The answer may surprise you.
I called Aaron Kessler, sportsbook supervisor at the Golden Nugget Casino, to see what Las Vegas makes of the apparent power shift. Kessler said that before this season, the Golden Nugget listed Louisville as a 15-point favorite in its Nov. 29 home game against UK.
“Now, I’d definitely see Kentucky favored, regardless of where they played,” Kessler said. “With the game at Louisville, right now it’d probably be Kentucky favored by two or two and a half.”
For those scoring at home, that would be a 17-point swing in just over a month.
“Well,” Kessler said, “Kentucky has performed well and Louisville has not.”
