Rajon Rondo and the Celtics handed Portland a defeat 88-78. Rondo played over 40 minutes, shooting 5 of 8 (63%) from the field but only 1 of 4 (25%) from the stripe. He added 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals to finish with a +15 over/under and 11 points on the night. The Celtics are now 35-10, for the second-best record in the NBA.
Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson couldn’t save Houston from a 111-106 loss to Dallas. Hayes did well though, shooting 8 of 10 (80%) but missing both free throw attempts for 16 points on the night. He finished with 8 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist for -10 over/under.
Patrick Patterson got just over 16 minutes of play, and shot a healthy 3 of 4 (75%) for 6 points total. He also managed 4 rebounds and an assist, but finished with a -22 over/under (ouch).
Miami (Jamaal Magloire) dropped one to New York (93-88), but Magloire did not play (coach’s decision).
