The CATS started out strong and faded in the second half. Finishing strong and playing with toughness is something Calipari has focused on the last few weeks. Last night after the Georgia game, Coach Cal said that this is something this team “should be able to do, and they can’t”.

Here’s an excerpt from “Cutler’s Comments” on Lex18.com…
But, once again, Cal was singing the same song. Where is the toughness?
“You must be the tough guys,” says Cal.
“You have to make the tough plays. You are not the one to get rebounded on. Can’t be. That’s one. Two, you have to be really strong with the ball. All those other things, the guys should be able to do, and they can’t.”
“We got to focus in on that and take care of that or it’s going to come back and bite us,” says Darius Miller who was very solid with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
“It’s just something we have to fix and take care of.”

I actually thought the CATS looked tougher than the last time they played Georgia, but it’s obvious there’s still work to do. When March roles around very team is playing to survive, and a lack of toughness will lead to an early exit in both the SEC and NCAA tournament.
Looks like Elizabeth Lambert may be at practice on Monday 😉
