Last weekend, junior Perry Ellis and his family attended the Kansas State vs. Kansas game in Lawrence.
Many fans and people related to the Jayhawks have been raving over Ellis and from sources, Perry really enjoyed the game and visit.
If this was ran by Bill Self (which I am sure it was), the head coach would definitely be pleased. After all, Perry has to be one of Self’s top priorities in the Class of 2012, right?
This got me to thinking– who could get Perry Ellis out of Kansas’s grasps?
Well, John Calipari and Josh Pastner could easily be the two to do so.
Both coaches have expressed just as much interest in Ellis as his home-state coach Self has.
Before his departure to Lexington, Calipari was very close to Ellis, and because of his sister, Savannah, playing on the women’s team at Memphis, it gave him just some more chances to get to know the young stud.
Coach Cal has the track record to help Perry fulfill his dream of playing in the NBA, as he has expressed to many people.
However, he isn’t looking past the college game.
But where to go? Where to go?
Don’t forget, Josh Pastner was Calipari’s top assistant, so he knows Ellis very well, too.
Pastner has been able to see Perry quite a few times with the trips to Memphis in destination for Savannah’s games.
Why waste a valuable chance?
Not only do Calipari and Pastner coach top programs, but they also are some of the best at giving pitches and talking players into playing for them.
I’m not saying Perry will go to Kentucky or Memphis or not go to Kansas; but one thing is for sure: if anybody can get the young man from going to Jayhawk Country, these two coaches can.
I am a firm believer it is a three team race for Perry Ellis right now.
Kansas, Kentucky, and Memphis will be fighting till the end for the services of Perry Ellis.
But until then, enjoy witnessing this youngster grow and develop as a future star. He has a lot in store for him.
