The Pikeville Panthers had lost to their cross county rival, the defending 3A state champion Belfry Pirates, every year since the year 2000.
Until last night.
The Panthers used a 3 touchdown night from junior Daric Pugh and a stingy defense to beat the Belfry Pirates 29-20 to improve to 5-0 on the season.
What many considered the best game in the state sure lived up to the billing, as the #5 team in Class A outlasted the Pirates, who were the #1 team in 3A in the AP Poll.
Take a look at the highlights and interview with Pikeville head coach Chris McNamee after the big win.
