The bench has seemed to have a mystical power for Coach Cal this season. Earlier in the year Cal brought Terrence Jones from the bench against Auburn and he scored 35 points, a freshman record at Kentucky. Doron Lamb has come off the bench most of the season and is averaging 13.6 points per game. The latest story is that of junior Darius Miller.

“It was not that much of a difference really,” said Miller, who had a steak of 31 straight starts dating back to last season get snapped. “Either way it doesn’t matter, I just have to come out and play regardless. Whether it is off the bench or starting, I still have to play the same way.”
Miller tied a season high with three 3-pointers after being on the bench at the start of the Mississippi State game on Tuesday.
“Maybe it helped him,” said Calipari. “Maybe it takes the edge off. Maybe it’s a little bit easier for him.”
Just in case you forgot, here’s what Terrence Jones did from the bench against Auburn.
