NBA of the Day 02-26-2011

Nazr Mohammed’s new team (Oklahoma City) faced off against Daniel Orton’s Magic and got spanked, 111-88. Unfortunately, neither Mohammed nor Orton played.

Detroit (Tayshaun Prince) dropped one to Philadelphia (Jodie Meeks) 110-94. Meeks shot only 1 of 7 from the line but made both of his free throws for 5 points overall. He added 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists in 34:46 of play (it was like Noah’s Ark).

Prince did not play due to a stomach ache. This may have been affecting him for several days now, as Prince has posted sub-par numbers his past two games played (1 point and zero points respectively).

Eric Bledsoe started last night as expected with Baron Davis’ trade to Cleveland. The Clippers lost to the Lakers 108-95. Bledsoe scored 8 points on 2 of 11 shooting (4 for 4 from the line). He was able to get 8 assists and 4 rebounds in 36:15 of play. Look forward to great things from Bledsoe, glad to see he and Patrick Patterson (Houston) are getting their chances.

John Wall and the Wizards lost to Jamaal Magloire’s Heat, 121-113. It looks like Wall’s ‘calling out’ of his team for lacking heart didn’t prod any change in behavior. For his part, Wall went 7 of 15 from the field and 9 of 12 from the line for 24 points. It says something when your team loses by 8 points but you finish with a +11 over/under. J-Dub finished out another double-double with 12 assists and 3 rebounds. Magloire did not play.

DeMarcus Cousins’ Kings lost to Nazr Mohammed’s old team (Charlotte), 110-98. Cousins scored 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting (3 of 4 from the stripe). He also garnered a double-double with 10 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal in 26:30 of play.

New York lost to Cleveland 115-109, but Kelenna Azubuike did not play.
