Braeden Anderson Update

Braeden Anderson was not even a player fans knew about a month or two ago.

Now the 6-foot-8 power forward is being coveted by many of the top programs in the country, including Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, Duke, and, yours truly, Kentucky.

It’s unbelievable how a guy that was committed to DePaul is now getting this much attention.

In fact, he may be the most sought after recruit now.

I talked to him a little bit today to clear up a couple of things.

[*]Braeden said he is not necessarily down to four teams (UCLA, Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky), like many reports have said. He isn’t even down to two (Kentucky and Kansas) right now, either. He is still keeping things open. However, he did admit that both UK and KU are very high on his radar.
[*]He also said that he isn’t even really considering UCLA anymore because of Arizona’s recent interest in him; they offered him Thursday, along with Oklahoma and Kansas. “Arizona has a great class coming in and they are the better team right now, so it would be kind of crazy for me not to consider them,” he said. “Just look at Derrick Williams and how he has developed. That makes me interested in them.”
[*]Anderson still has not received an offer from Duke. “They are still in the evaluating process, but they like to move quick. I’m expecting something in the next two weeks.”
[*]He is also expecting some news from Kentucky soon, too. The Wildcats have no offered him yet, but he feels it coming. Anderson did say the coaching staff wants him to come back to Lexington for an official visit soon as well. That may be the day he gets his offer from Coach Cal.
[*]Anderson will be visiting Kansas tomorrow and staying for a couple of days, as many have reported. “I’m going to watch them practice and get acquainted with things while I’m there,” he said. He also seemed very excited.

I feel much better after speaking with Anderson about Duke. They had gotten me nervous, but from what I heard, he is not as interested in them as I expected, and not as much as he is interested in Kentucky and Kansas.

It’s definitely down to both those schools in my opinion. He talks different about UK and KU than any other teams.

I will be giving several updates a day from here on out on Braeden Anderson.
