In this edition, Perry talks about his season winding down and the state playoffs looming, the recent visits he has taken, and why he wears No. 34 on the basketball court.
Enjoy!

Hey guys!
Since my last diary we have won seven more games. We are now 22-0 on the season, but we have won 41 games in a row, which is now tied in 6A state history. We won the Wichita City league last week and have won it three years in a row. Friday night we won Sub-State in Topeka and we have won it four years in a row. We continue to play well and as a team.
State starts on Wednesday and the games will be played at Wichita State’s Koch Arena, which is great because we don’t have to drive out of town this year. I have two uncles, a cousin, and my grandparents all coming for State. We have three games left to win it all.
I am still working on breaking the record for dunks in a season. I have 58 dunks so far. Last year I had 43.
I was also recently selected to play in the All-American Championship game in Houston on April 3rd. I am honored to be one of the 14 juniors selected to attend the event.
Well, I attended a game in Manhattan when Kansas State played Oklahoma and had a great time. The fans were great! They had made several signs for me and did some chanting during a timeout.
Then I attended a game at Norman when Oklahoma played Kansas. They chanted my name when I walked in as well.
I went to Memphis on the 27[SUP]th[/SUP] to see my sister’s senior day. It meant a lot to her that we were at the game to support her.
I will probably not take anymore visits until late spring or summer. I would like to come back to visit Kentucky again, just not sure when it will be yet. Coach Orlando stays in regular contact with me.
Many people ask me why I wear #34, but really, it’s a no brainer!
When I was like 5 years old, I was a huge fan of Shaq and he wore #34. I was the tallest on my team and wanted to be like Shaq. I have had that number for High School and summer ball. In middle school I was #45 because the #34 jersey was too small. I thought about changing to #30, but then I changed back to #34 because everyone knew me as #34. It has just been a good number for me and I don’t want to change it now.
Hopefully I can get another state championship with it!
I will let everyone know how things go. See ya!

Thanks Perry! Have something you would like to ask Perry?
