It looks like the Cats will face the Gators tomorrow at 1:00 for the SEC championship game. Vanderbilt led most of the game (at one point by 12), until about 6 minutes left in the game when Florida took a 60-57 lead and never looked back.
Kenny Boynton of Florida led all scorers with 22 points on 7 of 15 shooting (5 of 9 from 3-point land). Jeffrey Taylor led the Dores with 21 points on 7 of 13 shooting (1 of 5 from 3-point land). Three point shooting seems to be the deciding factor, as Florida shot 52.4% (11 of 21) overall from the 3 while Vanderbilt shot only 18.2% (6 of 33). Both shot extremely well from the charity stripe (73.7% and 71.4% respectively).
Kentucky split their series with Florida this season, each winning the home game. If Kentucky’s players are all healthy tomorrow, you have to give the edge to Kentucky in “Catlanta”. If not, this may be a long game for Kentucky. Let’s hope Lamb and Liggins are healed up and ready to go for the NCAA next week.
