Taylor County 2016 point guard Quentin Goodwin, who has long been considered one of the best players in Kentucky, thinks Kentucky is still interested even though he hasn’t heard from them in a while.

This from MLive.com’s Brendan F. Quinn:

Asked about UK and coach John Calipari on Sunday, Goodin said, “I haven’t talked to Kentucky in a while, but I still feel like I have a close relationship with (assistant coach John Robic). I haven’t talked to coach Cal or coach Robic in a while, but I feel like the interest is the same.”

As for Louisville, Goodin said he doesn’t recall the last time he spoke to any of the Cardinals’ coaches.

“I’m taking it all in and just soaking everything in right now,” Goodin said of his overall recruitment.

He expects to narrow his final list of suitors in August and said no school currently stands out as a favorite.

“I’ll make my final decision some time next summer,” said Goodin, who averaged 16.1 points, 4.7 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore at Taylor County.

I am always a fan of Kentucky kids being Wildcats, and if Goodin is good enough, let’s hope John Calipari is still interested.
