Big Blue Hangover: What Now?

Last night was a really weird feeling.

I was ready to leave a Final Four game with 5 minutes to go.

I am sure you’re saying, “Why in the world did you want to leave then Scott, the Cats only lost by 1 point!!”

Because I knew we didn’t separate when we had to.

At one stretch of the game neither team could score and that was when the Cats needed to make their move.

They didn’t, thus the outcome.

You could also argue the Cats didn’t deserve to even be within shouting distance the way they shot the basketball, but they scrapped around and stayed in it, long enough to have DeAndre Liggins of all people shoot the last shot.

I agree with going for the win on the last shot, but I don’t agree with who shot it.

DeAndre Liggins did hit a big shot vs. UNC, but that shot was in transistion and wasn’t a shot that came out of a set play.

I would have rather had Lamb or Knight shoot the biggest shot of the season…oh well.

This was my first trip to Houston and the Final Four and I never thought I would end up giving my NCAA Championship game tickets to a cab driver…way it goes I guess.

We are going to watch the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks tonight as Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes try to help the Rockets to the NBA Playoffs.

The Rockets have to win out to have any shot to go to the postseason, so I am expecting a high intensity atmosphere in the Toyota Center.

I will write a little more throughout the day as I just got up from my first full night’s sleep since Thursday.

Cats had a great season and definitely don’t have anything to be ashamed of…there is always New Orleans next year.
