What a day for Kentucky recruiting.. two recruits Kentucky had been recruiting over the last couple of months have decided to go elsewhere.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Earlier in the day, a recruit I thought Kentucky would get if they offered, decided he couldn’t wait on that offer and went to Kansas.
Braeden Anderson is a very likeable kid and I am happy for him on his decision to play for Bill Self in the Big 12. The Morris twins are gone and I am sure Anderson will have a great shot of more playing time for the Jayhawks then he would have Kentucky next season.
Then there is Stan Simpson. I have stayed in contact with Stan’s coach Kyle Smithpeters, and the last time I spoke with him I got the vibe Kentucky had cooled on him. Memphis has been hot after Simpson for a while so I wasn’t surprised at all when Kyle texted me to say he was going to be a Tiger.
Now what happens?
Everyone is mentioning God’s Gift Achiuwa as the next possibility, but the rumor is he possibly committed to Cincinnati today. He visited the Queen City this weekend.
Trevor Lacey could be the only addition to the already stellar class, but who knows what he will do. Lacey has called me twice in the last couple of weeks to tell me that Auburn wasn’t in the mix and that he was going to decide between Alabama and Kentucky. Then he tells an Alabama newspaper that is just a rumor and all 5 schools he has on his list are equal. So, who knows what the Alabama Mr. Basketball will announce on April 22nd?
Maybe Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight, and everyone else is going to come back and all of this is for naught.
I do know one thing for sure, we will know everything by April 23 because Lacey will announce and players that are declaring for the NBA Draft have to announce their intentions by then.
Should be a lot of fun and we will try to get the best possible information for our readers that we can. We might not always be right, but if we put it out there we will try to confirm it the best we can.
