Bowling Green’s Chane Behanan and Clark County’s Robbie Stenzel and Vinny Zollo have all three declined invitations to tryout for the Kentucky All-Star team.
According to Bowling Green head coach D.G. Sherrill, Behanan plans to enroll in summer school at Louisville in June and join the Cardinals on their trip to Australia in August.
Stenzel and Zollo simply decided that they didn’t want to participate.
Here is an excerpt from Jason Frakes of the Courier-Journal:
[QUOTE]Sherrill said if Behanan had won Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball award — which went to Christian County’s Anthony Hickey — that Behanan would have “had to revisit” the decision. The Mr. Basketball winner automatically makes the All-Star team.
“We probably would have tried to figure out some way to work it out,” Sherrill said. “It still wouldn’t have been a great fit schedule-wise.”
Humphrey said he was disappointed the 6-4 Stenzel and 6-9 Zollo chose not to attend the tryouts.
“They just said they didn’t want to,” Humphrey said.
