While talks about Tubby Smith possibly being in the running for the recently vacant Maryland job, it looks like another secret was revealed about the current Minnesota head coach.
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Tubby has been fighting prostate cancer for the past year, and he underwent surgery on April 21st to remove the cancer.
He now says he is cancer free and “can’t wait” for next season.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Tubby and his family. Hopefully he is indeed free of cancer.
