I Still Don’t Want Tony Woods

I was one of the ones nay-saying Tony Woods here the first time he was considering Kentucky, and my mind hasn’t changed.

The facts as reported to us the first time: he was arrested in September of last year and was charged with kicking and pushing the mother of his infant son – causing a fracture of her spine. The facts as reported by Woods’ girlfriend NOW: Woods became agitated and pushed her off the mattress, causing her to topple onto the carpet.

Now I wasn’t there, so I can’t say for sure what really happened, but if it was me I wouldn’t have plead guilty to assault (which Woods did) if I just pushed someone out of bed. It is also interesting to note that the coach who recruited Woods to Wake Forest speaks highly of him, but the coach who suspended him indefinitely from Wake Forest isn’t talking about him. Hmmm.

I agree that sometimes people change, and sometimes people need second chances. Woods should find a team that is desperate and needs to take a chance on a recruit *cough*Louisville*cough* where he can prove himself – but not at Kentucky. Kentucky is neither desperate, nor do they need to take a chance on any recruit. I tend to agree with Gregg Doyel – don’t sign Tony Woods, Cal.
