According to Jerry Tipton, of Lexington Hearold-Leader, Ex-Wake Forest Center, Tony Woods, likes Texas and Kentucky. Woods former AAU coach of the Georgia Stars, Mike Maynard says that “Woods enjoys a close relationship with Texas coach, Rick Barnes.”
Woods was ranked as the number 10 Center in the class of 2008, by Scout.com. Woods averaged 4.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game as a freshman for Wake Forest.
During last week’s visit to Lexington, Woods visited with AD Mitch Barnhart and President Lee Todd, to talk about the altercation he was involved with at Wake Forest. Woods and his girlfriend got into an argument and it resulted in Woods being arrested on misdemeanor assualt charges.

“We got into an argument, it escalated and I reacted poorly,” Woods said to Yahoo Sports. “I was definitely in the wrong. I made a mistake. But what got printed and what got said was blown out of proportion.”
“People think Tony is some sort of monster,” said Barbour, Woods’ girlfriend. “It’s frustrating to everyone around him because we know that’s not the case.”
