Former Kentucky recruit, Deandre Daniels was reported to make a decision last week. We are still waiting. There were several rumors that he had already signed with Texas but waited to announce. Those reports are false. There were also rumors that he signed with Duke over a month ago, those were also false.
Duke coach, Mike Krzyzewski, has backed off in the recruitment of Daniels, according to several Duke insiders. Within the last month, there were reports that Daniels wanted to go to Duke.
Just a few weeks ago, Director of basketball at IMG Academy, where Daniels attends school, released a statement that Deandre would decide the next morning at 9 AM. Two weeks later, still no word from DeAndre. Maybe in the near future, which could be two years in Daniels mind, he will pick a school. Where ever Deandre chooses to attend, he will succeed. He will be picking between Kansas, Texas, Oregon and Duke being the long shot.
I have also heard rumors that Daniels still has interest in Kentucky, but I believe that they are just rumors. I don’t think there is any truth to those reports at all. Calipari backed off of Daniels over two months ago.
