According to ESPN, Tennessee’s A.J. Johnson was arrested over the weekend with defensive tackle Danny O’Brien on alcohol-related charges and resisting arrest. Johnson is one of the top returning seniors in the nation. The star linebacker recorded 9 tackles in his last game vs. Kentucky. Former Vol Dontavis Sapp also was arrested on charges that include resisting arrest.
UT issued a statement Sunday morning saying it was aware of the arrests and was gathering details.
“We have very high standards and expectations within our football program at the University of Tennessee, and appropriate action will be taken.”
