Mayor Jim Thornton has proclaimed Sunday, February 2, 2014 as Wesley Woodyard, Jr. Day in the City of LaGrange and has extended best wishes to Wesley and his teammates with the Denver Broncos as they head to Super Bowl XLVIII.
Wesley is a 2004 graduate of LaGrange High School where he was an outstanding football player. He was named State AAA Defensive Player of the Year and led the Grangers to two State Championships.
After a distinguished career at the University of Kentucky, he joined the Denver Broncos team. In addition to his football work, Wesley has been very involved in charitable work both in Denver and LaGrange.
Mayor Thornton presented an official Proclamation to the family members of Wesley, including his Grandmother, Mrs. Mildred Rutledge and his father, Mr. Wesley Woodyard, Sr.
