Dale Brown Happy at Clark Atlanta

Kentucky alum Dale Brown has been putting his time in the coaching carousel the last couple of months, as he was basically hired at 2 schools in a matter of a week.

If you follow Nation of Blue, you know Brown is now the head coach at Division 2 Clark Atlanta which plays in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, where Kentucky State is also a member.

Dale was really excited to land the new job, especially after the rough time he was having at his previous job at Dillard University.

“Clark Atlanta is a great situation, I have a lot of friends and family in the area.” said Brown. “Atlanta is a basketball hotbed.”

Dillard was not providing him with the scholarship funding necessary to improve the program and Brown was looking to move to greener pastures.

“I didn’t have the resources to be successful there,” Brown said of Dillard.

Dale had a new job at Meridian Community College in Mississippi, but problems with getting his paper work completed by the college ended up leading to Clark Atlanta.

“There were several administrators at Meridian that were UK graduates and they were really excited to give me the opportunity to coach,” Dale said. “They were having some type of board meetings all week and couldn’t get my paper work done.”

“Clark Atlanta called while all that was going on and I accepted their position.”

Dale went on to say that he spoke with the Meridian administrators and they totally understood the situation and wished him well.

Brown has been trying to get his coaching staff hired and news broke recently that he had offered Tony Delk an assistant position.

About the possibility of hiring Delk, Brown said,”Tony called me last night at midnight and said he wasn’t going to take the job.” “He has another situation with a Division 1 school where he has been interviewed and has been offered the job.”

Brown wasn’t at liberty to say which school had offered Delk the job.

Brown already has one assistant, and this is former Georgia star Litterial Green. Brown and Green met playing together in the NBA Developmental League with the Southern Crescent Lightning.

Brown is also sure that he will add former Clemson and Indiana Pacer Dale Davis to his staff very soon.

Everything sounds like Dale Brown has improved his job status in Atlanta, and look for him to keep climbing his way to a division 1 gig.
