John Wall has had a Busy Weekend

Former Wildcat and current Wizard John Wall has had a very busy 4th of July weekend. First it was announced that he will be coaching at the Reebok Breakout Challenge in Philadelphia starting tomorrow. The director of the camp said of Wall’s participation:
”John will take ownership of the camp. It’ll be a hands-on experience for him. He’s only three years removed from that summer, and wants to find kids that mirror his story.”
The camp participants are supposed to be relative unknowns, as the emphasis of the camp is supposed to be on “lesser-known players with untapped potential”. However, some of the participants should be known to UK fans: Daniel Dingle, Isaiah Lewis and Jevon Thomas.

The second event Wall partook of this weekend was on Saturday when he played in the Goodman League (Washington D.C. street ball). In a marquee game, Wall scored 41 points to lead Baltimore’s Finest to a 133-118 victory over Sweat Mob. Wall had been called out by league commissioner Miles Rawls:
“The Goodman league is a rite of passage,” reporter Shemar Woods wrote. “Players who want to claim they’re the best in the area must prove themselves on Barry Farm’s court. Rawls wants John Wall, the Wizards’ star point guard, to ‘earn his stripes’ in the league, as (Gilbert) Arenas did.”

”‘He doesn’t have to play for the entire summer, just once,’ Rawls said.”
