Former Kentucky defensive lineman Langston Newton has transferred to Purdue and started class today.
Purduesports.com is reporting this.
Newton, who transferred to Purdue from Kentucky, originally signed with the Wildcats out of Carmel High School in the spring of 2012. A first team all-state selection as a senior, he helped lead Carmel to a 14-1 record and the Class 5A state championship in 2011. He did not play in either of his two seasons in Lexington. Newton is also an accomplished thrower, winning the state title in the shot put and discus as a senior in high school.
