If you didn’t know it, I have been a Physical Education/Health Teacher for the last 10 years. I have taught elementary, middle school , and high school in 4 different school systems. I guess I always knew I wouldn’t retire as a teacher, and that has now become a reality.
I am taking a leap this year and will be working for Nation of Blue.com full time. After the couple of seasons we have had it is now time to work full force to make this into the company we have all dreamed of.
We began after Christmas of John Wall’s [STRIKE]senior[/STRIKE] freshman season with just 3 guys writing(myself, Anthony Vicars, and Scott Zachow) about Kentucky and loving every minute of it. I guess one could only dream at the time the possibility of doing this for a living, but that is coming to reality this year for me at least.
I am in the process of moving from Ashland to Mt. Sterling so I can be closer to Lexington and take part in the day to day grind of football practice, media opportunities, and of course all the basketball and football home games.
The reason I am telling you this, besides it being a slow day in news, is that I want to thank you guys for the love you have shown the site over the last 1 1/2 seasons. Nation of Blue has grown to 13 writers, which I think is the best hardworking group in the Kentucky blogosphere, and has grown so much that we have attained another site that will include just basketball recruiting.
BlueGrassHoops.com is an extension of Nation of Blue which is a part of the Coast to Coast Hoops National Recruiting Network. We are proud to be able to give our recruiting readers the availability of having this resource for them to use, on top of Nation of Blue. Rising Star Garrett Tucker will be running the show over at BlueGrassHoops.com, and I can promise you he and his crew of writers will bring you the most up to date free recruiting information in the country.
You will still get basketball recruiting on Nation of Blue, but all of the original content from our Nation of Blue writers will be found on the new site.
Again, I would like to thank all of the Big Blue Nation for the opportunity for me to live my dream of covering Kentucky Athletics on a full time basis, and hopefully you will enjoy everything to come in the upcoming seasons!!
