Five Quick Observations from Kentucky’s Loss to North Carolina

john calipari mad

Here are my 5 quick observations about kentucky’s loss to North Carolina.

You might agree or disagree, but I really don’t care…if you have a thought, post them in the comments.

Don’t make them personal, just argue them in a manner that is respectful.

Number 1.

Julius Randle needs to step up and play to what every one is projecting him to be. Anthony Davis and John Wall were both #1 picks and he hasn’t shown anything comparable to either one in the last couple of weeks. He hasn’t dominated any part of the game. He hasn’t dominated the boards, the paint, or done anything defensively that makes me think he can be the best player in the country. When will Randle step up and be the guy that every one thinks he can be?

2. James Young has to hit shots from the perimeter for Kentucky to win..plain and simple

3. Andrew Harrison played the best game he played all year. I know he made some bad turnovers, but Andrew came to play today and sometimes you have to take the good with the bad with a young point guard.

4. Alex Poythress played the best game he has played since the Duke game last season in the Champions Classic.

5. Until Kentucky starts coming up with 50/50 balls and wanting the basketball more than the other team this could be a long season.

Until Julius Randle decides to play up to his potential this team is going to struggle. Randle has to make plays and he just did not and McAdoo outplayed him.
