Welcome to Jackson’s second NOB Recuiting Journal Entry.
In this edition, Jackson talks about his unofficial visits from this summer, who has been and will be in to watch him workout, and who his new workout partner is.

[HR][/HR]Pre-season workouts just started and our coaches have already gone overboard with all the running; we run in place, we run around the track, we run around the school, we run up and down the football stadium, we even run to get a drink of water. If we are not the best conditioned team in the state, then I want to meet those guys! Bet their coaches have gone crazy, too. I know it’s all gonna be worth it when we cut down some nets though! Recruiting is going great. This summer, I took unofficial visits to UK, Cincinnati, Xavier, Louisville, Purdue and Indiana. This week, I’ve had Xavier, Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota assistant coaches stop by to watch open gym and talk to my parents and coaches. Louisville, Purdue, Butler, and Kentucky coaches are coming to watch us next week. It’s a long time until I have to make a decision, so no need to get in a big rush. 2014 is three seasons away. I’m excited that some of my teammates are getting some looks, too (Aaron Evans, Nick Trisco, Lance Blakely). Lafayette will be a powerhouse in basketball again.
Talked my buddy and New York Knick Josh Harrellson into being a workout partner. See, something good DID come out of the NBA lockout! He’s a beast, but I need him to push me. I want what he has, so I’ll just do what he does. It’s a lot of fun playing against someone his size. It makes me focus. Got to finish with my left hand a lot more. Almost forgot the best part, I dunked on him in transition…Hard! He says it was luck, but I don’t think so…
On another note, my lil’ sis got the lead in both school plays, and was voted class president to go along with her 4.0 GPA. The competition is tight in the Davis household – around here, I’m just another kid. And I like it that way. Hakuna Matata!
