Among many things you may have learned or observed in last night’s UK All Stars/Villain’s game, it was a swift reminder of just how good Jodie Meeks is. Not only did he throw down a cool 42 points in last night’s exhibition, but he brought back memories of what could have been in a harsh reminder of how deadly he can be from three point range and the energy he brings to every play. I just couldn’t help myself today in thinking about how number 8 would already be hanging in Rupp right now had Meeks stayed on that 2009-2010 squad.
A popular saying, “don’t hate the player hate the game” (yes I just quoted that) is very true in this situation. What I’d really like to hate is Billy Clyde for pushing Jodie so far away from the University of Kentucky that he was ready to get out as soon as possible. I want to solute Jodie for the great memories and one of the rare shining lights he provided us in Gillispie’s last year.
