John Calipari is starting to reach back into his old stomping grounds of Memphis for top-tier basketball talent, and why not when the kids love the famous coach?
Junior [B]Jonathan Williams, III [/B]of Southwind High School (Tenn.) has been familiar with Calipari for quite some time. While his visit to Lexington surprised some, Coach Cal just saw a relatively familiar face.
“I got to talk to Coach [John] Calipari a little, but not much. He was just glad to see me there,” explained Williams, who also visited Louisville earlier in the day. “I did get to talk to Coach Orlando [Antigua], though. He was just talking about how fun it is to play at Kentucky.”
During the game, “J3,” as most people know Williams, was focused on two main things: John Calipari and Terrence Jones.
“It was a really good visit. I was really looking to see how Coach Cal coaches and how he reacts to the game. I really liked what I saw, and I am a fan of how he coaches.”
