Alex Montgomery Out For Season

alex montgomery

Mark Stoops confirmed this morning that freshman wide receiver Alex Montgomery is out for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury. Montgomery suffered the injury Saturday night after catching his second career touchdown pass in a 48-14 victory over Alabama State. Montgomery and two other jumped up to do a chest bump and Alex came down awkwardly on his knee.

This is a huge blow to an already thin receiving corp. Montgomery caught 16 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

Kentucky could also be with out wide receiver Ryan Timmons against Missouri on Saturday afternoon with an ankle sprain.

Hopefully Alex will bounce back strong and be able to play next season, but you just can’t tell about an ACL injury.
