Get your TJones on!

Before I explain this, let me say a couple quick things about last night’s game.

First, Marquis Teague has officially arrived. Yes, he’s played at a better level for the last few games. Yes, his assist-turnover ratio has been very good in that same stretch. But until last night, there hadn’t quite yet been an “I really trust this guy” moment for me. Last night, Marquis Teague had an entire game of such moments, and showed us what he is made of. There were questions all week as to whether he would crack under the pressure of playing in a funky gym without much in-game coaching. He responded by dropping 13 points, 8 assists, and only 1 turnover. Well done, young man.

Also, a quick note on Darius Miller: he started out sucking the hind teat, managing three first half fouls to go with little else. He even got his 4th foul with over 17 minutes to go in the game. But holy cow, after he got that 4th foul, he turned it on, hitting a huge three that got Kentucky going after a mild slump, and also getting a sweet sliding pass from Teague (he’s good) to hit a twisting, contested layup to beat the shot-clock by thismuch. And in a nutshell, that is Darius Miller. He starts out slow sometimes, and will often frustrate you, but when it counts, the senior is there. Both his baskets last night were absolutely huge, and his defense after getting his 4th foul was nothing short of outstanding.

Now, about that lede.

It’s a fun point of discussion for Kentucky fans to talk about how much Terrence Jones flexes after he dunks or hits a big shot. Or a small shot. Or a free throw. Or ties his shoes. You get the point. It’s part of him, and I suppose we should cherish it like the treasure it is.

On the postgame show last night, the idea was proposed for you, dear reader, to send us videos of you doing your best “TJones”. Yes, we christened this soon-to-be movement “TJonesing”, because this country is long overdue for a fad built on the back of a sports figure making a routine movement.

“How do I TJones?”, you say through a mouthful of pretzels and Eazy Cheez. Simple. Did you manage to successfully check the mail? Give us a flex. Did you get a good parking space at the mall? Show those muscles, champ. Did your wife just give birth to a beautiful baby boy? You know you’re striking a pose with that newborn before you give him to the mother.

Simply video yourself (or have a friend, loved one, or total stranger shoot the video for you; it’s much easier) doing a simple, random task and TJonesing afterward. There may or may not be prizes awarded, but we can all have a good time amongst friends either way.

There will be a thread in the forum for you to post your videos. Good luck, and good TJonesing!
