Friday night John Calipari and Orlando Antigua took advantage of playing against Vanderbilt, as the Kentucky coaches took a short trip down the road to watch 2014 star Jalen Lindsey and Christ Presbyterian Academy.

Lindsey finished the game with 21 points and 10 rebounds in a win for CPA.

The next day, Lindsey returned the favor by occupying Memorial Coliseum to see the Cats take on Vanderbilt; granted, he was on hand as a Vandy recruit, but the game showed the sophomore forward a lot of great things.

”The game was great! The atmosphere was amazing, and both teams played so hard,” Lindsey began. “It was intense throughout the entire game.”

While the game was impressive in itself, the fan support may have been the most shocking thing from Saturday night’s showdown.

”It was crazy how many Kentucky fans were at the game. They travel well for away games.”

After the game, many UK fans expressed their pleasure with freshmen point guard Marquis Teague, who is playing arguably the best for Calipari’s squad the best five games. Lindsey also took note of Teague’s good outing.

”I was really impressed with Marquis Teague and Anthony Davis from Kentucky, and Brad Tinsley and Jeffrey Taylor from Vanderbilt. They all played well.”

Fans and recruits alike are all aware of Kentucky’s top-notch talent this season, but there is a difference in watching them on television and having a first-hand experience from the stands. It’s obvious the talent is there, but Lindsey noticed some other aspects from UK.

”(I learned) how fast and hard they actually play. You don’t always see that on TV.”

Overall, Lindsey was very pleased with the game. Expect more visits to come up in the future, including a possible visit to Lexington is the summer.
