Yesterday, Eloy and I went to the Kentucky Children’s Hospital to visit with the patients and was hoping to put smiles on some people that really needed it.
We traveled from room to room as Eloy went in to each child’s “home” and said hi, taking time to speak to each parent and not with a passing by attitude, but with an intent to make a lasting memory.
Eloy took the time to take pictures, with that perfect smile, and you could tell every one there really appreciated him taking time out of his finals week schedule for them.
All the children were surprised and in awe of Eloy’s height and appreciated the signed mini basketball they received.
It was also a great experience for me seeing how Kentucky basketball affects people on a personal level, seeing moods change and the excitement across each person’s face was priceless.
I have spent a lot of time with Eloy since basketball season ended and I have come to the following conclusion.
If there is a nicer and more thoughtful Kentucky Wildcat, when it comes to the fans, I would sure like to meet him.
