The name Shane Hall is still quite new for Kentucky fans, but fans are beginning to catch on. Of course, this was just another basketball player in the state of Kentucky last prior to the spring.
Over the past few months, Hall has quickly became one of the most popular prospects among college coaches. Several new schools have entered his recruitment, including Kentucky.
With that being said, the 6-foot-8 forward had a very busy Friday morning when the unlimited contact rule came across for coaches.
Since Friday morning, Hall and his father have heard from around twenty schools, ranging from low-major to high-major.
“I have heard from UAB, Northern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Stanford, Indiana, Alabama, Indiana State, Cincinnati, Tennessee Tech, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Southern Miss, Seton Hall, Miami (OH), and Butler,” Hall texted Sunday afternoon.
Hall also heard from the Kentucky.
“Coach Orlando [Antigua] texted my dad. He was just checking in.”
Sunday, Louisville picked up the slack and also sent Hall’s father a text.
While it is still early in his recruitment, it looks like Hall is going to be a coveted player for many programs. However, one school is really pursuing him hard right now.
UAB is making Hall a priority, and he may be their biggest priority, regardless of class. The Blazers have extended an offer and have stayed in-touch very closely; the family also visited Birmingham a few weeks ago.
Keep an eye on this gem. He could emerge as one of Kentucky’s best in recent memory.
