It will be a busy summer for the New Orleans Pelicans’ Darius Miller and Anthony Davis as they will be hooping in two total different capacities.

Darius Miller will be on the Pelicans roster for the Las Vegas Summer League, which begins July 12th as New Orleans opens with the New York Knicks.

Here is additional information on the revamped Summer League schedule:

The NBA summer league in Las Vegas on July 12-22 will have a new format that includes preliminary games, leading up to playoffs with the eventual crowning of a champion.

All participating teams will play a minimum of five games over the course of the first week of the season, with the playoffs set to commence after completion of games July 16.

After that, a single-elimination playoff tournament will begin with a championship game scheduled on July 22.

Anthony Davis will also be traveling to Vegas in July, but he will be working out at the Team USA minicamp which begins July 21st.

Davis also plans on joining the summer league team for training while in town.

The Chicago native said he also plans to attend NBA Summer League training — something he didn’t get the opportunity to participate in last season. Davis said he was excited to get the experience of Summer League this time around.

This will be Davis’ second season in the NBA after leaving Kentucky as a freshman. He was selected first overall by New Orleans and is one of three former top picks to be invited to Vegas for tryouts this summer (John Wall; 2010, Kyrie Irving; 2011).

The 20-year-old Davis made the All-Rookie first team this season after shooting 51.6 percent from the field, grabbing 522 rebounds and blocking 112 shot attempts, but Davis knows he still has to improve.

“(I’m working on) form for when I’m shooting, ball handling and post moves. Those are the three biggest keys,” Davis said.
