The athlete roster for this year’s edition also includes three-time beach volleyball gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, Marlins’ slugger Giancarlo Stanton, and five-time WNBA All-Star Swin Cash. Others baring all are: Courtney Force, John Wall, Vernon Davis, John Isner, Sydney Leroux, Carly Booth, Joffrey Lupul, Elena Hight, Agnieszka Radwanska, Chris Sharma and Daila Ojeda, Miesha Tate, Marlen Esparza and Tarah Gieger. Another notable standout: 77-year-old golf legend Gary Player.
Also, Jason Reid of the Washington Post thinks Wall shouldn’t get a max contract with the Wizards, partly because of his tattoos.
Judging by his new look, Wall, who declined an interview request Monday through the team, might not be as concerned as he once was about appealing to a wide audience. In interviews before the 2010 draft, Wall made a point of presenting the type of clean-cut image teams want from college players to whom they’re considering giving millions of dollars.
He went on to say that basically he hasn’t proved himself yet to get tattoos, using the example of LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
James, Durant and Rose, in that order, are considered the best players in the game. In his first three seasons, Wall didn’t appear in an all-star game, didn’t participate in the playoffs or lead the Wizards to so much as a .500 record. James and Rose never tried to sell mass-appeal images to the public. They just let their play do the talking.
This is really an odd take on Wall’s situation at Washington and just seems to be a jumbled thought which includes his new tattoos.
