Anthony Davis Officially Added to Olympic Roster

Anthony Davis has been offically added to the United States Olympic Team roster today.

Davis played last night in the team’s first exhibition game and played 10 minutes scoring 9 points.

The Kentucky Wildcat and reigning national player of the year was brought up from being an alternate because of the injury to LA Clippers forward Blake Griffin. Griffin injured his knee in a scrimmage on Wednesday.

“We are sorry to have received confirmation of Blake’s injury which has forced his withdrawal from the USA Team for this summer,” said Colangelo. “Blake worked extremely hard in our training camp and certainly would have been a valuable contributor. This is another unfortunate injury, but we have to continue to move on and we’re very fortunate to have Anthony Davis available. Anthony offers our team additional height and length, and this will be an incredible experience for him.”

The 2012 Olympics in London begin July 27th and will be aired on the NBC Network.

Team USA’s first game is scheduled for July 29th vs. France at 2:30pm(London) in the preliminary round.
