Former Kentucky recruit and future UCLA Bruin Shabazz Muhammad sounds like he might be in a little bit of trouble.
Thought of to be the #1 recruit in the class of 2012, Muhammad was bringing Bruin basketball back to the top of college basketball.
It just won’t start in China.
It was reported recently that Shabazz will not be allowed to participate in UCLA’s trip to China because he is being investigated for taking improper benefits during his recruitment.
I am sure some Kentucky fans are breathing a sigh of relief that Muhammad didn’t pick Kentucky, because the last thing they need is another supposed scandal.
My guess this is something along the lines of John Wall’s deal, where he had to sit out games at the beginning of his only season due to the same scenario.
If this does turn into a big deal, look for UCLA to drop significantly in various pre-season polls which have them in the top 5.
