Kentucky has had an exciting few months of recruiting since Mark Stoops became the head coach. As of today ESPN has Kentucky’s 2014 recruiting class ranked 22nd. With only 7 commitments thus far for 2014, I would say the Wildcats are in pretty good shape. With some of the prospects that are suppose to commit to Kentucky, we could very well see a top 10-15 class.
The job Mark Stoops and company have done thus far is outstanding, let’s hope they can keep the momentum going.
Coach Stoops made great decisions when it came to hiring a coaching staff. With the hires of Neal Brown and D.J. Eliot, he knew what he was getting as far as coaching and recruiting ability.
To me one of the biggest hires Stoops made was Vince Marrow. He has been solid, while recruiting in the state of Ohio. A state that Kentucky desperately needs to hit hard when it comes to recruiting. If Marrow and Stoops can control the recruiting ties in Ohio I think Kentucky could have a top 20 class every year. The key is we have to move up in the SEC if we want to compete. The SEC has 10 teams ranked in the top 25 and Kentucky ranks 9th out of those 10 teams.
With Mark Stoops at the helm of this Kentucky program, the future looks bright for Kentucky. Hopefully some more recruits will see what Stoops is trying to do with this program and jump on board.
