One of the top 2016 recruits in the country, Jayson Tatum, received an offer from John Calipari and Kentucky yesterday.
Hoops247.com spoke with Tatum about the offer.
“Coach Cal said he had only offered four underclassmen and he said he can tell I’ve grown a lot over the last year. He wants me to come down when I get back from USA to visit.”
The elite 2016 talent discussed his reaction to the offer from the Wildcats.
“I really don’t know what to say. Just thankful and blessed. Just stay hungry and humble.”
What stands out about the Kentucky program?
“I like how he doesn’t hold his kids back. Lets them play and helps kids reach their dream and get to the NBA.”
It would be hard to see this recruitment not go down to Kentucky, because giving John Calipari 4 years to recruit a kid should be considered illegal.
