Ryan Harrow Focused on Getting Everyone Involved

John Calipari has compared point guard Ryan Harrow to Brandon Knight because he can score the ball.

What Ryan Harrow sounds like his focus is being more like Marquis Teague.

I guess if you played like any Calipari point guard you are going to be pretty good, but Ryan Harrow doesn’t sound like he is too worried about living up to the past point guard expectations, he just wants to get his talented teammates involved.

“I think I’m a little bit more focused, and I know the game a lot more, just being that I played one year and sat out one year,” Harrow said. “I learned what Coach Cal wanted from his point guards: Just a leader, somebody that’s going to get everybody involved, make sure everybody is playing to their strengths. If you do that, then with all this talent on the team we’ll end up winning.

“He usually gets his point guards to the next level. I don’t think of it as, ‘I’ve got to live up to what they did.’ I don’t look at it as that. If Coach Cal picked me to be his point guard, obviously he feels like I could be one of those next point guards in line. It takes everybody a while, from Derrick Rose to Tyreke Evans, everybody like that. But as the year goes on, you see how all his point guards succeed.”

As with any Kentucky basketball team recently, the point guard will be the key to how far this team will go into March Madness.

Will Ryan Harrow be the guy that can do that?
