In a ceremony this evening in Louisville, Madison Central’s Dominique Hawkins was named Kentucky Mr. Basketball.
Hawkins averaged 20.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals on his way to helping the Indians win the 2013 Kentucky State Basketball Championship while taking MVP honors.
The 6’1″ point guard is also being heavily recruited by Kentucky and is likely to sign in the near future.
Bullitt East and Kentucky signee Derek Willis and Bellarmine signee Rusty Troutman, Trinity and Boston College commit Darryl Hicks, Montgomery County and William and Mary signee Omar Prewitt were the four other finalists for the award.
